Not a single contestant thought that West Virginia could beat K-State last week. Not one.

We did, however, have two people who missed just one game.

That duo was Steve Dick of Winterset and Conner Morris of Winterset. Both also had 70 tiebreaker points; the tiebreaker was 77. So we will combine the first- and second-place winnings with Steve Dick and Conner Morris, splitting the prize.

There were three people who tied for third place; Ben Neideigh takes it on points. He guessed 70 points as the tiebreaker.

Just out of the money was Chuck Lister of Earlham (66 points) and George Eaton of East Peru (57 points).

Most people missed four or five games. The others that missed fewer than that included Wayne Martens, Jim Hochsteler and Robbie Cline of Winterset, as well as Gary Frey of St. Charles and Bob Brown of Patterson.

This was the final week of the Madisonian football contest (until we go bowling).

Be sure to stop in and thank our sponsors for the season. And thanks for bearing with me on the goofy games you got to guess on. There were a few darn good games, including the upsets.
