The Earlham boys’ basketball team continues to search for it second victory of the season and the first of the new year, as visiting Prairie City-Monroe edged the Cards 55-49 Monday.

Earlham junior TJ Harkins paced Earlham with 14 points; junior Jackson Vandever added 12 points.

Earlham fell behind early, and trailed 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Cards kept pace with PCM in the second quarter, with each team scoring 10 points.

PCM went on a 15-10 run to open the second half, but Earlham rallied and went on a 22-16 fourth-quarter run, but it was too little, too late.

The Earlham boys’ only victory this season has been against Adair-Casey Guthrie Center, which Earlham won, 69-56. That was a conference victory for Earlham.

Van Meter ranked in the top 10 in Class 2-A in the RPI leads the WCAC with a 5-0 conference record. Woodward-Granger is 5-1 and DM Christian is 4-1. Both Madrid and Panorama are 4-2 in conference play.

Earlham hosted Madrid Tuesday night and travels to Truro Friday to meet the Roadrunners of I-35.
