Dual meet championships begin

Martensdale-St. Marys finished second at its sectional in Ogden, qualifying for Tuesday nights dual team qualifier. The top two teams from each sectional qualified for the state dual team meet. I-35 of Truro won its sectional at Truro Saturday, also qualifying to continue wrestling as a team.

Winterset won its Class 2-A sectional at Adel, with Atlantic finishing second.

With Winterset and Atlantic finishing one-two at sectionals, the venue of the first round of state dual team meets changed, because both Winterset and Atlantic had been chosen as first-round hosts for the tournament before the season concluded.

Atlantic wrestled Red Oak Tuesday night at Atlantic while Humboldt wrestled Van-Meter-Earlham.

Winterset found itself at home, wrestling unranked Knoxville Tuesday night while Harlan and Eddyville-Blakesburg/Freemont wrestled in the other Winterset meet.

Martensdale-St. Marys traveled to Clarion-Goldfield/Dows to take on Nashua-Plainfield Tuesday.

Clarion-Goldfield was slated to wrestle unranked Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center at Clarion.

The Roadrunners of I-35, meanwhile, traveled to Logan-Magnolia to wrestle Logan-Magnolia. The other meet at LOMA was Missouri Valley and Bedford-Lenox.
