Tally Sue Evans, 61, of Winterset died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Gus Henrici officiating. Interment will take place in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines.
Tally Sue was born on Feb. 27, 1958, at Durango, Colo., to Larry and Beverly (Weidman) Breeding. She had spent most of her lifetime in Winterset, graduating from Winterset High School in 1976. Later that year, she married Don Alcorn and to this union they had three beautiful boys. She was married on Nov. 22, 1996, at Las Vegas, NV, to Steven Dale Evans. Tally Sue had been a long time alcohol and drug counselor in the area before doing clerical work for AAA and then onto Citigroup and then Metlife.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly (Weidman) Breeding.
She is survived by her father, Larry (Wilma) Breeding of Winterset; husband, Steve Evans of Winterset; sons, Jeff (Kobie) Alcorn of Winterset, Steve (Stephanie) Alcorn of Grimes and Doug (Taylor Fritz) of Winterset; step son, Tyler (Crystal) Evans of Colorado; sister, Terri (Tom) Collins of Winterset; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
