Frank Tibben, 75, of Winterset, died Friday, April 3, 2020, at his winter home in Yuma, Ariz.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Burial of the urn will take place in the Montpelier Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. A live stream will be available on Frank’s tribute wall at www.caldwellparrish.com. Frank Charles Tibben was born May 11, 1944, in Oakland, Calif., to Merlin Edwin and Caroline (Riccio) Tibben. He graduated in 1962 from Valley High School in West Des Moines. He married Marilyn Sue Speer on Sept. 25, 1966, in Winterset. He was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Patterson area before purchasing a farm southwest of Truro in 1972 where they lived until November 2018 when they moved to Winterset. He served on the boards of the Winterset Farmers Coop, Madison County Pork Producers and Madison County Cattlemen’s Association.
Frank was preceded in death by infant son, David Scott Tibben; his parents; his parents-in-law, Ernest and Mina Speer; brothers-in-law, Michael Koehler and Bruce Mills; and sister-in-law, LaDonna Speer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Marilyn Tibben; children, Chuck (Kim) Tibben of St. Charles and Julie (Richard) Taylor of Earlham; two grandsons; sisters, Kathleen (John) L’Estrange and Yolonda Mills; brother, Merlin Edwin Tibben Jr.; brother-in-law, Wayne Speer; sister-in-law, Joyce Koehler; and several nieces and nephews.
