Douglas Lyddon, 55, of Earlham died peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 13. Per his wishes cremation has taken place at Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. A graveside service will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at a later date.
Douglas Paul Lyddon was born on Sept. 18, 1965, to parents, Marilyn and Cliel Lyddon in Greeley, Colo. In 1975, the Lyddon family moved to Norwalk, where Doug attended school. Following graduation, Doug attended a technical school in Wichita, Kan. He later enlisted in the army where he received a good conduct medal and expert badge in hand grenade. As an adult, Doug earned his paralegal degree. After a long courtship, Doug married Wendy Beyreis on April 20, 2016. He loved their family, their dog, Dusty, and cats, Angie and Lily.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Christopher; and his step son, Thomas Bychinski; as well as grandparents and aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his children, Allison and Katie Lyddon, Keith and Dawn Bychinski; his parents, Marilyn (Waltz) and Cliel; his brother, Patrick; his sister, Beth (Mitch) Damm; his brothers-in-law, Terry (Bonnie) Beyreis, Alan (Linda) Beyreis, and Kevin (Sharon) Beyreis; sisters-in-law, Pam (Mark) Krause and Jane (Jim) Krause; and many extended family members.
