The Winterset School District will be adhering to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds recommendation of no classes for the next 30 days.

This, of course, would have been the first week of spring break.

School officials have announced that all school buildings, practice fields and parking lots will be closed until at least April 13. That date may fluctuate.

Meanwhile, Iowa High School Unified Activities partners have suspended all spring activities. That includes the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, the Iowa High School Music Association and Iowa High School Speech Association Activities.

Officials say all sports are in a prohibited period of practice, competition and sanctioned activity until the school closure is lifted.

The Winterset Administration building will remain open, with business office hours, beginning March 23, being from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Only visit in person for essential business.
