Webb family veterans receive Quilts of Valor

Bryce Webb Sr. and Bryce Webb Jr. were awarded Quilts of Valor.

Navy Veterans Bryce Webb Sr. and Bryce Webb Jr. were presented with Quilts of Valor during a short ceremony held in front of the Freedom Rock at noon on Election Day.

Father and son, the elder Webb served in the military from 1969-1972 as a Hall Technician Petty Officer 3rd Class. The younger Webb began his military service in 2001 and is presently serving. His duties have included involvement in the Western Pacific, Persian Gulf and Afghanistan.

On Election Day, he traveled from Minnesota to Winterset to cast his vote.

The quilts they received were sewn by Barb Huston, and the long arm quilting was completed by Lois Troyer of Dallas Center.
