Memorial Day weekend was a great weekend for Winterset Rotarians to host their first virtual race. They had over 88 participants ranging in age from 3 to 79 years!

Through all their efforts running, walking, and riding (some in the rain), these folks raised some much needed dollars that are going back into our community.

Rotary donates to MATURA

A pair of local non-profits benefited from the proceeds of the Virtual Virus Victory Race. Rotarians gathered with the members of MATURA and the Paw Pantry in presenting the checks, both of which have been instrumental in serving the community.

This past week, Winterset Rotarians presented two non-profit organizations with those proceeds. MATURA and the Paw Pantry each received $1,500 checks! Kudos to all who participated and to the Winterset Rotary for their efforts to assist with food insecurity.

If you missed out on the opportunity to take part in that first virtual race, Winterset Rotarians are once again inviting you to participate in  another race. This August you and your best friend (four-legged or otherwise) can take part in the Winterset Rotarians first “Virtual Dog Jog & 5K”.  Registrations will be accepted by mail or on-line through Aug. 9, 2020. To register on line go to GetMeRegistered.com or visit Winterset Rotary’s “Virtual Dog Jog & 5K Run” event page on Facebook for more registration options.

Entry Fee is $30/person and includes a T-shirt and handkerchief.

Winterset Rotarians have been making a difference in our community and worldwide for almost 100 years.  Projects such as these races are essential to the community in which we leave.  It takes many volunteers to bring these events to you and your local Rotarians encourage  and welcome new members.
