It’s five o’clock somewhere, and Friday, July 10, it will be at Winterset City Park as the north shelter will be rocking with live music.

The Madison County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Winterset Parks and Recreation Department to present Fridays at 5. Perfect for families, and lovers of music, this is the fourth year for the annual event. Start your weekend right with a little fun and fresh air under the stars.

Beginning at 5 p.m., food trucks positioned on site will have hot food for sale. Beverages to include beer, wine, soft drinks, and bottled water will also be available for purchase.

Organizers ask that patrons not bring in additional food or drinks.

The band for the evening’s festivities, Willie Mac and the Lost Cousins, is scheduled to take the stage at around 5:30.

Throw your blankets and lawn chairs in the trunk, grab your friends or family, and head to City Park. The slightly sloping hill to the west of the north shelter area serves as a natural amphitheater, the ideal spot for watching the stage of entertainers. It is also close to the playground and hedge maze, allowing the kids to work off a little energy while you relax after a long week.

Remember to mark your calendars, as the next Fridays at 5 event will be at the same time and same place on Friday, Aug. 7, with the band Looking 4 Luke scheduled to provide entertainment.

See you on Friday at Winterset’s beautiful City Park.
