Members of the Earlham Freedom Fest Committee, after careful consideration, decided to postpone this year’s celebration. A very difficult decision, the committee felt it was in the best interest of the community. They were concerned for the health and safety of citizens as well as visitors who attend the festival from various locations.

Due to COVID-19, canceled events will include those previously scheduled for Saturday, July 4, and related activities which were set for Friday, July 3.

In view of this, 2020 is the sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of Earlham. In honor of this milestone they have decided to hold a sesquicentennial celebration. The festivities are planned for Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020. The events on that day will be very similar to the activities attendees would see at a normal Freedom Fest, and not just on Independence Day (parade, park activities, street dance, fireworks).

Dependent on COVID-19 regulations as the state continues to re-open, it is hoped that Earlham will be able to observe this monumental year for their community, and invite others to celebrate along with them.
